East Ohio St Streetscape Improvements

The City has initiated a traffic study to inform the design of a series of pedestrian and transit focused safety improvements along East Ohio Street.

East Ohio Street is one of the Northside’s most active corridors, connecting historic Deutschtown and surrounding neighborhoods to river crossings, State Route 28, Interstate 279, and beyond. Stretching from Cedar Avenue and Allegheny Commons Park to Chestnut Street, it serves as a vibrant dining, retail, and community destination for residents and visitors alike.

The East Ohio Street Streetscape Improvement Project, currently in preliminary design for the section between East Street and Union Place, aims to enhance safety, accessibility, traffic flow, and the overall experience for everyone who lives, works, and travels along the corridor.

This redesign impacts safety, walkability, accessibility, traffic flow, and the future look of our business district. Take a few minutes to explore and share your thoughts.

Community feedback is essential to shaping the future of East Ohio Street.
