8 Upcoming PRC Collection Events Help Residents Responsibly Dispose of Hard-to-Recycle Materials
Have unwanted items taking up space in your basement, garage or garden shed? There’s still plenty of time in 2026 to responsibly dispose of a wide variety of materials through eight upcoming collection events hosted by the Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC).
From pesticides and paints to televisions, tires and electronic equipment, these events provide convenient opportunities for residents to properly dispose of items that cannot be placed in regular household recycling or trash.
All collection events take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Advance registration is required.
Household Chemical Collections
At three upcoming events in western Pennsylvania, individuals can dispose of automotive fluids, household cleaners, pesticides, paints and other household chemicals.
A $20 fee covers up to 10 gallons or 50 pounds of material per vehicle. Additional fees apply for larger loads.

- Saturday, September 19 — South Park, Allegheny County
- Saturday, October 3 — Bradys Run Park, Beaver County
E-Waste Collections
Two upcoming e-waste collection events will give residents the opportunity to responsibly dispose of a variety of unwanted electronics.
Accepted items include phones, computer towers and peripheral equipment such as keyboards, laptops and mice; tablets, scanners, routers, modems, cable boxes, electronic cables, DVD players, VCRs, stereos, video game consoles, vacuum cleaners and microwave ovens.
Televisions, computer monitors and printers may also be accepted for a per-item fee.

Hard-to-Recycle Collections
Three upcoming hard-to-recycle collection events in western Pennsylvania will accept a variety of items that are difficult to recycle through traditional programs.
For a $5 participant fee, residents can drop off unlimited phones, computer towers and peripheral equipment, expanded polystyrene packaging material, microwave ovens, video game consoles and DVD players.
Additional items—including televisions, computer monitors, printers, fluorescent tubes, small Freon appliances and tires with or without rims—are accepted for a per-item fee.

- Saturday, August 22 — Boyce Park, Allegheny County
- Saturday, September 26 — Settlers Cabin Park, Allegheny County
