Youth Employment

Youth, within the City of Pittsburgh, seeking employment must be at least 14 years of age and have a work permit. Work permits are available through the Pittsburgh PublicSchools. This includes students attending non-public schools, cyber charter schools, or participating in a home education program.  To receive a work permit, please email a completed application form and proof of birthdate here with subject line: "Work Permit Request, Student Name & School."

Required documents include a completed application and proof of age via a passport, driver's license, or birth certificate.

Learn and Earn

The Learn & Earn Summer Youth Employment Program is designed to provide meaningful work experience and career exposure to low-income young adults ages 14-24, residing in Allegheny County. To review program eligibility and apply visit the Learn & Earn website.
